Self-Mastery for Leadership Excellence
10-Week Virtual Group Coaching & Training Class
Starting Thursday, December 7, 2023 @12pm ET (GMT-4) on Zoom
How do you level up as a leader? What does it take to lead through uncertainty, to bring people together to work towards a common goal, to navigate challenges, to collaborate cross-functionally, to hit targets, to build and manage high-performing teams, to get promoted and get that Director, VP, CXO role?
Sure extensive experience, knowledge, and skills go into it, but it all starts with self-mastery.
This course is for anyone who strives to be a better, stronger, more effective leader. It’s a transformative 10-week journey that is anchored in three foundational pillars essential for leadership - Understanding Yourself, Understanding the World Around You, and Exercising Agency.
We’ll start with self-awareness, helping you discover your own personal knowledge, preferences, emotions, strengths, and communication nuances - uncovering what you didn’t realize you didn’t know about yourself and how you operate.
We then shift outward, focusing on understanding how the world around us works. We’ll look into the dynamics between content and context, the complex operating systems we navigate and the varied sources of power at play.
All this equips you with tools and strategies you can then use to exercise your newfound knowledge with intent and precision. As the weeks unfold, you’ll develop your own vision, actionable goals, and master the art of leading yourself to effectively lead others.
We’ll meet for one hour on Zoom, once a week, over the course of 10 weeks. Here’s the breakdown of what we will cover:
Who Are You, Really? (Awareness of Self)
Week 1 - Personal Knowledge - We’ll explore the 3 different types of personal knowledge, how they impact your life, what that means for you, and what to do with them.
Week 2 - How We Operate: Our Brains and Emotions - We’ll gain insights from the latest in neuroscience, deepening our understanding of how our brains function, how emotions are made, and how we can manage, regulate, and create thoughts and emotions to empower ourselves.
Week 3 - Your Character Strengths - One of the first psychometric tools we’ll use to help us expand our self-awareness is the VIA Character Strengths Survey. This session explores the concepts behind the assessment, what your results mean for you, and what you can do with this new insight to be happier, stronger, and more effective in life and at work.
Week 4 - Your Personality Type - The second psychometric tool and probably the most popular (and often misunderstood) is the MBTI Personality Assessment. We’ll walk through its purpose, how to understand your results, and how to leverage the findings to understand yourself and others better.
Week 5 - Your Communication Style - This will be the third and last psychometric tool we’ll use in this course. We make the distinction between communication and effective communication, explore the core elements of communication, look into your style based on the results, and understand how you can use the strengths behind your style to control these elements and communicate effectively in any situation.
Understanding The World Around You (Awareness of Environment)
Week 6 - Content vs Context - We explore the concept that is truly at the heart of personal power and learn how to use certain tools to help us distinguish between within and beyond our control, regaining power in any situation, and moving forward regardless of external challenges.
Week 7 - Operating Systems & Sources of Power - We’ll take a deeper look into complex systems, how they operate, how they impact us, where our power lies in all of it, and how we can use this knowledge to help us navigate effectively.
Exercising Agency & Becoming a Better You (Taking Action)
Week 8 - How to Use Your Power & Gain Confidence - Here’s where we take everything we learned and apply it through actionable steps in any situation to exercise your power and gain the confidence you need to move forward, grow, and achieve your goals.
Week 9 - The Leadership Pyramid - We’ll take a different look at the anatomy of a great leader, understand how emotional intelligence and self-mastery are at the foundation, and how we can lean into various frameworks and styles to continually build our leadership skills and grow as leaders.
Week 10 - Bringing it All Together: Vision, Goals, & Strategy - During our final session, we’ll explore how we can take everything we’ve learned and continue to apply it in our lives as we articulate and refine our vision, goals, and strategy for the future.

How many people will be in the course with me?
There will never be more than 10 people in the course at any given time. Sessions are designed to be more intimate to give folks a chance to speak up, interact, and have the opportunity to receive coaching.
What is group coaching?
Coaching is a powerful tool often used in leadership, facilitated by a trusted professional guiding an individual. It involves a dialogue in a safe, non-judgmental space, enabling individuals to broaden their awareness, explore their thoughts and feelings, and discover new ways of seeing and engaging with the world.
Group coaching extends this co-exploration process to a communal setting, where participants collectively accompany each other on this enlightening journey, listening and sharing with one another.
This class will utilize a combination of training and group coaching.
Will everyone get a chance to be coached?
Each attendee will have the opportunity to receive coaching at least once during the 10 weeks. However, even if you're not directly coached in a session, you'll gain valuable insights and benefits from observing the coaching of others.
Are sessions recorded for those who can't attend live?
Since our sessions may involve confidential coaching conversations, they will not be recorded. However, you will have access to any slides or materials used in class.
How much time should I allocate for homework or assignments?
The majority of our exercises will be conducted during class sessions. However, there will be psychometric assessments that you'll need to complete before certain classes. These assessments typically take 30 minutes or less. Any additional exercises or assignments provided post-session are introspective in nature. The time commitment for these will vary based on your preference, but they can be completed in as little as 10 minutes.
What happens if I miss a session?
If you miss a session, you'll unfortunately miss out on the interactive components and any supplemental information not included in the slides. However, you'll still receive access to the slides, exercises, and any related materials from that session.
Do I have to have my camera on during the Zoom class?
Yes, it's highly recommended that participants keep their cameras on during the sessions. Having cameras on helps to foster a more interactive, engaging, and personal experience for everyone. Being able to see one another deepens the connection within the group and enhances the group coaching dynamic. It creates a sense of presence, allowing for better understanding, communication, and trust. I understand there might be instances where you need to turn off your camera briefly, but I encourage everyone to participate visually for the majority of the session.
Is there a recommended way to prepare before the course starts?
Before the course starts, I'll send out a survey to understand your individual objectives and how I can tailor the program to benefit you the most. Aside from that, I recommend coming with an open mind, ready to embrace and explore all the insights this journey will offer.
What is the refund policy?
Registrants can cancel and receive a full refund prior to the start of their first class. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this point.
What can I expect to achieve by the end of the course?
By fully engaging in and dedicating yourself to the course, you can anticipate a transformative shift in how you perceive yourself and the world around you. You will likely have begun experimenting with new approaches and ways of being.
By the course's end, you will have a deep understanding of the core tenets of self-mastery, equipped with a toolkit designed to empower your ongoing journey in both life and career, positioning you for continued growth and success.
